La yas-amu al-insanu min duAAa-ialkhayri wa-in massahu ashsharru fayaoosun qanoot

Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.

Man does not get weary of craving for (all sorts of ) good things; and if he is touched by some evil, he is disappointed, devoid of any hope.
